Last week’s post was all about “More strolling, less scrolling” and how taking breaks in your work so you can better process what you are learning about your niche will help you do ‘less scrolling’ in your business.
Less scrolling doesn’t just apply to mindlessly reading a social media feed. It also applies to how you operate in your business.
You might be on auto-pilot.
You might be distracted with all the tasks you need to do in a day.
You might feel directionless.
Last week, I talked about pausing between each of the steps of the Find Your Wedge framework to ‘take a hike’.
In other words, taking breaks as you investigate your place in your niche and market, helps you process and reflect on what you’ve already learned and what you already know. These breaks can help you feel more confident about one step before you move on to the next one.
This is an important consideration as you work through the 4-step framework, and it’s important in the broader range of your business. "Taking a hike” gives you some space to really plan the next what, where, and how steps of your business. Or at least, it increases your awareness of the what, where, and how of your business as it stands today.
If you feel confused or directionless, take a hike.
Take a hike = pause, reflect, write, think about, come back in a bit, take a literal hike. Whatever it is, stop and think.
These pauses help you not only FIND your wedge, but really DEFINE it.
And isn’t that why you started your business in the first place?
Stay tuned,
Julie
